Safety Tips

Safety Tip 24-01: With nice weather arriving, practice defensive driving to avoid bicycles and motorcycles that will be sharing the road with you as well as children possibly running in the road

Safety Tip 24-02: Be careful of black ice, especially near car washes.

Safety Tip 24-03: Winter is not over yet, so be sure to keep a minimum of a quarter tank of gas, if not a half tank of gas in your tanks. This is especially important if you are stuck or in an accident, as the gas cools your fuel pump.

Safety Tip 24-04:   Be sure to watch for sun glare with the changing direction of the sun's position.  Use your visor/sunglasses especially at dawn and dusk.

Safety Tip 24-05:  Be social media savvy: If it feels like a scam, it's a scam. Tone and sarcasm don't always translate well in the written word. There is no winner when you fight on social media, everyone loses. Despite what they tell you, your kids don't really need to be on social media. Nothing is ever truly gone from the internet. Sometimes it's best to close the app, go outside and take a nice walk.

Safety Tip 24-06:   Spring is right around the corner which means the weather will be nicer. That means more people are going to be riding bicycles and traveling on foot more. Be mindful of pedestrians.

Safety Tip 24-07:  Keep your vehicle locked when in your driveway or parked on the street to prevent people from going through them.

Safety Tip 24-08:  Storm season is upon us. When thunder roars, go indoors. Find a safe, enclosed shelter. Safe shelters include homes, offices, shopping centers, and hard-top vehicles with the windows rolled up. After a storm, do not touch trees or branches that may be touching power lines. Do not drive through flooded roadway.

Safety Tip 24-09:  With nice weather arriving, practice defensive driving to avoid bicycles and motorcycles that will be sharing the road with you as well as children possibly running in the road.

Safety Tip 24-10:  Know how to respond to an emergency and be prepared for that emergency

Safety Tip 24-11:  Watch out for bees' nests. They are starting to come out.

Safety Tip 24-12:  It's summertime so watch out for kids, bicycles and motorcycles.
