Dear Residents:

The Village would like to address the concerns that have been brought to the Village over intermittent brown water complaints over the past several months.

The Village has known there was a problem but the water tank inspections could not be done during the winter months.

On 4/5/2021 Allied Services was contracted to clean and inspect both of Apple Creeks water towers. While the Dover tower on the east side of town was found to be in satisfactory condition, the Cemetery tower is in need of rehabilitation.

The coatings on the inside of said tower have deteriorated to the point that the interior walls of the tower is creating a rusty water situation in the distribution system.

Plants to rehabilitate the tower are already being planned and the Village is working with OEPA on formulating a plan to filter the water in the tower so it can be used. Allied Services is offering a system that we believe will ease the current situation however this process will have to be approved by the regulating authority. Rest assured that a solution will be found and the Village WILL have this tank restored to top condition.

Rehabilitation of a 200,000-gallon tank is no small task but the Village has retained the help from Allied Services, Engineer Associates and the Ohio EPA to make this a reality in the coming months.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience to the Village residents and will make every effort to correct this situation ASAP. In the mean time we will be doing extra testing to ensure EPA compliance but most of all we need the cooperation from the residents.

Please go onto the Village website to see updates as we will post progress on this job until completion.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience in the coming months.
